DDV, playing on the most beautiful clay in Amsterdam
Since its founding in 1904, ALTC DDV is one of the oldest tennis clubs in the Netherlands, boasting a rich tennis tradition. DDV is a friendly, large, and inclusive tennis community where everyone feels at home and can enjoy what unites us all: our love for the sport of tennis! On our fifteen well-maintained and illuminated outdoor clay courts in Amsterdam South, we combine socializing and recreational tennis—for all ages, levels, and nationalities (including expats)—with competitive tennis. The cozy Clubhouse (ReadyRoom) with its large outdoor terrace is a fantastic place to soak up the sun and enjoy delicious food and drinks while watching an entertaining game of tennis.
On June 26, 1904, the Lawn Tennis Club ‘De Derde Vijfjarige’ (DDV) was founded at the home of Prof. Josephus Jitta at Keizersgracht 808 in Amsterdam. The founders were pupils of De Derde Vijfjarige HBS on the Mauritskade. Besides chairman Jitta and treasurer van der Ham, there were no other board members – not surprising for a club with only six members!
Honorary Members are non-DDV members who have distinguished themselves to the association in a particularly honorable manner, and Members of Merit are members who have rendered exceptional service to the association and have been appointed by the General Meeting
