DDV has a large and very active youth department with approximately 300 children. From around the age of 6, a child can become a member and participate in group training sessions, during both the summer and winter seasons (when we use the indoor courts of the Frans Otten Stadium).
The club considers it important to offer the children a good tennis education. To this end, six qualified trainers are employed who organize the training sessions. For the younger youth, we work according to the Tenniskids lesson system, in which the various colors of tennis balls ensure optimal tennis development.
In addition to free play and training, the club often organizes events specifically aimed at the youth. Some examples include: the opening tournament, the club championships, the parent/child tournament, the exchange with Festina, mini-tennis, the Summer Camp, and youth parties. All are very fun activities that are on the calendar every year.
In addition, DDV participates with many youth teams in the tennis competition organized by the KNLTB, where they play against other tennis clubs. On Friday afternoons and Sunday mornings, there is an opportunity to play in the spring competition in various age groups.
It is great to see that parents of the junior members often become so enthusiastic that they become members themselves. After all, what could be better than playing sports together with your child! Tennis is the perfect opportunity for that!
